What Is Form I-864?

Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, is a legally binding contract required by USCIS and the Department of State for most family-based immigrants.
By signing it, the sponsor promises to financially support the immigrant so they do not depend on government assistance.

It must show that the sponsor meets 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (100% for military sponsors).
