What Is Form I-130A?
Form I-130A is a required supplement for all marriage-based I-130 cases.
It provides biographical information about the beneficiary spouse (the immigrant seeking the green card).

This section collects your basic identity details:
Full legal name
Other names used (maiden names, previous names)
Physical address history for the last 5 years
Mailing address
Date of birth
Country of birth and citizenship
Gender
Alien number (A#) if any
USCIS online account number (if any)
2. Information About Your Employment
You must list your employment history for the past 5 years, including:
Employer names
Employer addresses
Job title(s)
Dates of employment
Periods of unemployment
If unemployed, you simply write “Unemployed.”
3. Information About Your Parents
USCIS requires basic biographical information about both parents:
Full names
Dates of birth
Country of birth
Country of residence
This helps verify identity and family history.
4. Information About Your Spouse (the Petitioner)
You must confirm your spouse’s (the U.S. citizen or resident sponsor’s) details:
Full name
Date of birth
Place of birth
Address
A# (if any)
This cross-checks consistency with the I-130.
5. Beneficiary’s Statement, Contact Info, Certification, and Signature
You confirm:
That you understand the form
That the information is true
Your phone number

Your signature
Important:
If the beneficiary is outside the U.S., they do not need to sign.
The petitioner signs on their behalf when submitting to USCIS.
